It was out of a 89 7.3L. I then switched the housings ( a little tricky but not bad). The problem was in 88 ford switched to a dual mass fly wheel and dampered clutch ( if you don't have it you get excesssive gear noise). 88 is when they started using the ZF 5 speed. If you want to use the ZF 5-speed behind an F250 that had a T-18 ot T-19 BW 4-speed (or a C6) then the simplest way is to use all the ZF 5-speed power train parts aft of the crankshaft flange, meaning use the 12-inch flywheel, clutch and pressure plate that is used with the ZF 5-speed (there are alternate ways but this is probably the easiest).The Ford ZF5 transmission is a heavy-duty, five-speed manual gearbox commonly found in Ford F-250 and F-350 trucks.
