I will just be building a Shockwave from a pistol grip only 500. I have all the parts, I just need time and cooler weather to work comfortably in my workshop. I was just doing a mind excersize as to whether it would be cheaper to buy a shockwave and Form 1ing it to a SBS or just doing a Form 4 SBS. I think it is cheaper to just do a factory SBS.

I have been researching doing a SBS with a Mossberg 500 SG or Shockwave. I have been unable to find the actual rules from the ATF. Calling the ATF for clarification didn't really help. They told me basically once SBS always SBS and if I wanted to put the 18.5+ length barrel back onto my SG, I would need to take it off the NFA registry.
